In the upcoming months, the Match’in project will enter its pilot phase in the participating Länder and municipalities. Before the beginning of the implementation stage, the advisory board was therefore invited in order to gather their wide range of expertise. The goal was to discuss the concrete design of the implementation as well as further steps and scaling options of the Match’In procedure. For instance, it was discussed whether and under which conditions the Match’In algorithm could be implemented into the regulatory systems of the participating Länder as well as in other politcal contexts.
The Match’In pilot project serves as one example for the ongoig digitalization of the migration sector and its administration. In order to reflect upon the project in this broader context, State Secretary Bernd Krösser from the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community (BMI) took part in the meeting and introduced the advisory board to current developments in the digitalization of the migration administration.
