Even more than social science research in general, transfer-oriented projects are interwoven with the field they are researching. Practice partners – and in the case of refugee research, refugees themselves in particular – are directly involved in the research. This results in various challenges and questions for which individual solutions and answers must be found.
This also applies to the Match’In transfer project. Three ethical challenges that have arisen in the course of the project were discussed as examples in this presentation: The role of protection seekers who participated in focus groups and pre-tests, the transfer of data collected for matching to the municipalities and the exclusion of the disadvantageous position of project participants compared to protection seekers who are distributed via the regular procedure.
