Exchange with volunteers on the Match’In Project in Nuremberg

The Match'In Project was presented at the fifth Welcome Culture Forum of the City of Nuremberg on 12 November 2021.

Many voluntary initiatives have emerged in recent years to support the arrival of asylum seekers in the city of Nuremberg. The “Forum Willkommenskultur”, which usually takes place in the Historic Town Hall of the City of Nuremberg, was hosted online this year due to the restrictions of the Covid19 pandemic.

After the event kicked off with a welcome address by Nuremberg’s City Mayor Marcus König, the pilot project Match’In and its and key issues were presented, such as the selection of suitable matching criteria. The volunteers of the city were invited to enter into a discussion with the project team and each other in order to contribute their perspective on the project and the issues raised.

Speakers:

Prof. Dr. Petra Bendel, Head of the Research Department Migration, Flight and Integration, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and one of the three project leaders

Sonja Reinhold, Research Associate at the Research Department Migration, Flight and Integration, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU)
